App makes it easier to choose a better indoor environment

The purpose of the VELUX Pro app is to help the installation contractor cover all the requirements of the customer and make sure that he or she has the correct sales arguments and showroom photos at hand. 

As well as being a skilled craftsman, the installation contractor who installs roof windows in a home must be an equally skilled advisor and salesman.  The installation contractor meets the homeowner at a point in the customer journey where the customer is considering whether to get a roof window but has yet to decide on the specific product and the extent of the reconstruction. At this point, the installation contractor needs something to support the dialogue with the homeowner.

The installation contractor is close to the customer and can support and influence the customer’s decision process. From VELUX’s stand point, the installation contractor is an important collaborator who can represent VELUX’s products, outputs and services.

The installation contractor can be the link between VELUX and the end customer, which is why it’s important that VELUX is able to accommodate both parties.

The app helps understand customer needs

The VELUX Pro app targets installation contractors, so they can match their service and product to the demands and everyday life of their customers.

The app provides the installation contractor with a tool that makes it easier to talk more extensively about the portfolio of VELUX’s products.

The app only includes VELUX products but can also be used to talk about roof windows in general. This means that, the installation contractor can advise the customer skilfully, without coming across as a VELUX salesman.

User surveys and the involvement of users and stakeholders have been central activities in the process of the development of the VELUX pro app.

The insights and challenges that the app has to meet have been unfolded and made concrete through user involvement and workshops. It was a process with several iterations, where we continuously developed and optimized the solution, so that we could deliver the best product.

Development of UX, interaction design and visual design; sketching, workshops, wireframes and clickable prototypes, and a think-out-loud test have formed the foundation of a solid and thorough flow and a result that reflects and meets the insights generated.

A fully functional app was developed and implemented for installation contractors of VELUX windows – all the way from idea development to activation, including project management.
