Stronger European Wind Energy
With a stronger brand, Wind Europe moves closer to a future where wind energy is the leading global supply technology.
The interest group of the European wind industry planned a new communication strategy and obtained a new modern visual identity that supports efforts to make wind the leading source of energy in Europe and globally.
The name was changed to Wind Europe. The new graphic expression is forward-looking and differentiates Wind Europe from other wind-energy interest groups.
Challenge
Wind energy is an important part of Europe’s growth and prosperity. But the sector is facing massive changes. Wind is no longer a niche, but an industry that must become increasingly competitive and attract more investment every year.
Solution
The aspiration to obtain local wind energy results through global representation interests had to mirror the interest group of the European wind energy industry. Therefore, the task at hand was a reorganization and rebranding, including a new name, new logo and new visual identity.
New Visual Identity
A new simple and concise logo that showed no wind turbines nor any other symbols for wind energy was developed. Instead, the dot in the letter “I” was placed at the far right – indicating that the wind had blown it there. This meant that the core story of wind energy became an integrated part of the logo. In addition, the new logo and visual identity play a dominant role in the interior design of Wind Europe’s headquarters.
Result
Today, Wind Europe is fighting from a much stronger position to help make wind the leading source of energy in Europe and globally:
- Closer to the target of being the go-to-source for policy-making and legislation processes within the area of wind energy.
- Wind Europe as an important reference point for international media and external stakeholders.
- Today, the secretariat collaborates more closely with members and other relevant organizations.
